Trans-Atlantic Cancer Cycle

Introduction:
Hi, I'm Roger Holmes, and in the summer of 2016 I am raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society by cycling across America and Ireland.

Starting in mid-June 2016 I am cycling solo and unsupported from San Francisco to New York and from my home town of Letterkenny to Dublin - finishing at the offices of the Irish Cancer Society. The total distance will be approximately 3,750 miles. I hope to complete the challenge in 60 days.

Motivation:
In August 2014 I had a fall from an electric bicycle, and hit my face off the road. I wasnt wearing a helmet. I suffered cuts, concussion and nerve damage due to a hand injury. I also experienced many symptoms relating to the trauma, and thought for a long time that I would not cycle again.

Thanks to the help of some key people, one of whom is a cancer survivor, I am now back on the bike. I have taken on this challenge as a means of turning my negative experience into a positive, by raising much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society. I am hoping, with your help, to raise at least 5,000 euro.
