Women for Election is delighted to be partnering with Cork City Council to bring a programme of comprehensive and engaging training and events to Cork to encourage and support more women to get involved in politics.
Cork City ranks 17th out of 31 local authorities for female representation. Currently women elected members make up 19% of Cork City Council – 6% below the national average. The number of women candidates seeking a seat in City Hall has risen substantially from 12% in 1999 to 29% of candidates in 2019.
